The British outlet and shopping center developer McArthurgGlen will invest 75 million euros in expanding its Designer Outlet center in Malaga , with the aim of turning it into the largest center of its kind in Spain. The investment will be long-term, so it is possible that the work will be completed over several years.
McArthurGlen, which already has more than a hundred signatures in its Malaga oultet, has also allocated part of its investment to better connect the complex with the center of Malaga, offering its clients a free shuttle until August 30 with the aim of attracting the arrival of tourists.
The general director of McArthurGlen, Javier Cambodia Telegram Number Data Mendizábal , predicts a good forecast for the summer with sales that may represent up to 35% of the year's total. “It is the star season for us and for the Costa del Sol in general,” says the manager, while pointing out that “the forecasts managed at an institutional level are magnificent, both in number and overnight stays.”
Likewise, Mendizábal highlights that the increase in the number of air connections greatly benefits the arrival of important international tourists such as those from the Middle East, the United States or Morocco. “We have to be prepared at all levels to respond to an increasingly demanding customer with very different needs due to different countries and cultures from which they come, without forgetting our local and national customers who are fundamental for us,” he adds.
McArthurGlen operates in Spain through Designer Outlet Málaga, which opened its doors, after several delays, in February 2020, just before the outbreak of the pandemic. The McArthurGlen Group, created in 1993, is, together with Value Retail, one of the main operators of outlet shopping centers in Europe. Since its creation, it has developed 655,000 square meters of commercial space on the continent.
